One of our classic tours with big success for many years. It includes all the “postcards pictures” from the fjord region. You will pass the capital Oslo, the former Olympic city Lillehammer, the Art Nouveau city Ålesund, the gateway to the fjord, Bergen, the troll road and the fjords. Absolutely recommended!
Day 01: Oslo area
Arrival at Oslo airport. The city center of Oslo is about 45 km from the airport.

Day 02: Oslo area – Lillehammer (≈ 180 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the direction of Minnesund, close to the village of Eidsvoll which is the place where the first Norwegian constitution was signed, on the 17th May 1905. Your drive continues along Mjøsa Lake, with its 100 km² the biggest lake in the country. In Hamar, you will discover the astonishing skating rink in the form of an upside-down Viking ship. You will drive towards Lillehammer where the Winter Olympic Games took place in 1994. We advise you to climb to the top of the ski jumping hill from where you will enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding area.

Optional: Visit the Maihaugen museum which deals with the traditions and art of the Gudbrandsdal area. This splendid open-air museum is the most important of its genre in Europe and will allow you to take a trip through Norwegian history from the 15th century to the present.
Day 03: Lillehammer –Trolls’ Road – Ålesund (≈ 370 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in direction of the famous Gudbrandsdal valley with many traditional farms. You will pass through the magnificent Romsdalen valley where you can discover the steep “Troll wall”. Continue heading in the Northern direction towards Ålesund and the well-known “Trolls’ Road” with its many steep curves in the middle of one of the wildest areas of Norway. Arrival in Ålesund, located close to the Storfjord. The city was totally destroyed in a fire and built up again in “Art Nouveau” style.

Day 04: Ålesund – Geirangerfjord – Valdrès (≈ 400 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy your drive along the Storfjord until Linge from where you cross over to Eidsdal by ferry (crossing not included in price). You then continue your journey on the beautiful mountain road called “Eagles’ Road” from which you will enjoy a splendid view on the Geirangerfjord: arrival at the village of Geiranger, also called the “fjord pearl”.
Accommodation in the Valdrès area at Storefjell Resort Hotel or similar
Optional: Cruise of about 1,5 hours on the Geirangerfjord (from/to Geiranger on board a small cruise boat) which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and was awarded “best destination in the world” by National Geographic. You will continue to the famous stave church in Lom (entry not included) by a steep road clinging to the mountainside. Head in the direction of the Jotunheimen National Park and the splendid Valdresflya plateau before descending into the Valdrès area in the heart of Norway.
Day 05: Valdrès – Sognefjord – Bergen (≈ 260 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the Filefjell plateau road before descending to Lærdal. On the way you will pass close to the famous Borgund stave church (entry not included). Then you will continue through the longest tunnel of Europe (25 km) to Flåm, situated on the banks of the Sognefjord, the longest fjord in the world.

Optional: Fjord safari (1,5 hours) by RIB boat to discover the Sognefjord which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Optional: Trip onboard the famous Flåm train (2 hours) to discover some of the wilder and most beautiful landscapes of Norway. During the 20 km long ride, you will see rivers in the middle of narrow ravines, waterfalls, snowy summits, and mountain farms clinging to steep hillsides.
Then you will follow the Stalheim valley to Voss. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Bergen, and have the opportunity to discover the “fjords’ capital”. We recommend you to visit the Hanseatic area Bryggen (on the UNESCO World Heritage List) with its old wooden houses and the typical architecture from the time of the Hanseatic merchants; also worth visiting is Old Bergen, the Fløien funicular, the harbor, and its famous fish market.

Day 06: Bergen – Geilo/Gol (≈320 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. You can spend the morning in Bergen before departing along the Hardangerfjord, also called the lovers’ fjord and well-known for its fruit trees. We advise you to stop at the Steindalsfossen waterfall where a little path will allow you to walk behind the fall. Cross the Hardangerfjord on the new suspension bridge of 1.380m length (toll fee not included). We advise you to stop at Vøringsfossen waterfall, one of the highest in the country. Continue to the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, a national park that is an Eldorado for hikers and people enjoying fishing.

Day 07: Geilo /Oslo area (≈190 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the direction of Oslo through the lovely valley of Hallingdal and then to the Ringerike area. In the afternoon you have the chance to discover the Norwegian capital. We recommend you to go to Bygdøy Island and visit its museums (Viking, Fram, Kontiki…), to Vigeland sculpture park, the Munch museum, Aker Brygge, Karl Johan Street.

Day 08: Departure from Oslo
