In the land of Legends

One of our great successful classic since many years. The whole fjords region’s “postcards” are part of the program. Oslo, Lillehammer, Ålesund, Bergen, Trollstigen and fjords.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Oslo Arrival in Oslo airport (flight not included). You will be welcomed by our tour leader (language spoken dependent on the guest) as well as our driver. Transfer to the hotel.
    Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Oslo region.
  • Day 2: Oslo – Lillehammer Scandinavian breakfast. Head north following the shore of lake Mjøsa, the biggest in Norway, up to Lillehammer, host of 1994 Winter Olympics. Orientation tour and climb up to the foot of the ski jump. Lunch. Continuation along the Gudbrandsdal valley, well know for it’s traditional brown cheese production. Also called Brunost in Norwegian.
    Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in the Gudbrandsdal Olympic valley.
  • Day 3: The Norway of Legends and Ålesund Scandinavian breakfast. Cross the Romsdal valley towards Åndalsnes. Climb through the spectacular Trolls road (opening depending on the snowcast), creatures from Scandinavian folklore for children. This very steep road is dug through the side of a mountain and offers an amazing view on the valley. Lunch on the way. Continuation along the Storfjord towards Ålesund. End of the afternoon free for a personal discovery of ‘Art Nouveau City’ with its canals and stone houses.

  • Day 4: Geiranger, Pearl of the fjords Scandinavian breakfast. Drive towards the Geiranger village, pearl of the fjords. Cruise of around 1 hour on the Geirangerfjord which can be found on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. Lunch. Continuation towards Lom on a dizzying road on the side of a mountain. Stop to admire the Lom’s wooden church. (entrance not included). Drive up towards the Jotunheimen National Park then descent towards the Valdres region, the heart of Norway.

  • Day 5: The Sognefjord and Bergen Scandinavian breakfast. Continuation towards Lærdal with a photo stop at Borgund’s famous wooden church (entrance not included). Around 2 hours cruise on the Sognefjord, of which one arm can be found on the UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites. The surroundings are spectacular and the change of scenery is guaranteed! Lunch as a typical Norwegian lunch box during the cruise. Continuation in direction of Stalheim valley, then towards Voss. In the end of the afternoon, arrival in Bergen. 2 hours guided tour of the Fjords’ capital with a certified local guide. On the agenda you will find among other things the hanseatic area (ancients buildings with Hanseatic merchant trading center architecture), the harbour and the city’s remarkable monuments.

  • Day 6: The Hardangerfjord and Hardangervidda plateau Scandinavian breakfast. Departure along the Hardangerfjord, well known for it’s numerous orchards. Stop at Steindalsfossen where a small path will allow you to pass behind the waterfall. Stop at Vøringsfossen, one of the tallest waterfall in Norway. Lunch on the way. Continuation through the mountainous Hardangervidda plateau, a national park and a real Eldorado for hikers and fishermen.

  • Day 7: Oslo, the Viking Capital Scandinavian breakfast. Travel across the green Hallingdal valley towards the Norwegian capital. Lunch on the way. 4 hours guided tour of the Norwegian capital with a certified local guide. During this visit, you will discover the Museum of Cultural History, the Fram museum, Gustav Vigeland’s sculpture park and an orientation tour including City hall, Parliament, The Royal Palace and Akershus Fortress.
    Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Oslo region.
  • Day 8: Departure from Oslo Scandinavian breakfast. Transfer to the Oslo airport and help with formalities.

Services included:

• Tour leader (language dependent on the client)
• Transfer Airport / Hotel / airport by coach the first and last day. (maximum 1 transfer per day.)
• Coach transport during the tour.
• Accommodation in a hotel of tourism category (local standard) located outside the city centre.
• Full board from dinner of the first day to breakfast of the last day. Buffet breakfast, 2 courses lunch or buffet + coffee (during cruise, lunch can be served as lunch boxes), 3 courses dinner or buffet + coffee. Lunch are usually served in hotel’s restaurant.
• Guided tours of cities, as mentioned is the program, with locally certified guide (spoken language dependent on
the client).
• Entrances and visits mentioned in the program.
