Enjoy this trip by car to discover Denmark and its castles. You will reach the northernmost point of Jutland, through cities like Aarhus and Kolding and combine nature, culture as well as cities and sea. Visiting Denmark is a unique and authentic experience that goes with the discovery of an ancient culture with Viking roots mixed with Andersen’s fairy tales, Shakespeare’s castles and music festivals.
Day 01: Arrival Copenhagen
Arrival in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, ranked amongst the greenest and coolest cities in the world by the New York Times! Copenhagen is a modern capital but with strong roots in the past. It is welcoming, dynamic, lively and charming, but it is also an ideal base to explore Denmark.

Day 02: Copenhagen – Helsingor – Roskilde (118 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Copenhagen and begin your journey up north to visit Lake Elsinore where you will find the castle of Kronborg, also known as Hamlet’s castle. You will continue to Hillerod, the Frederiksborg Castle, where you will now find the Danish National Museum of History.
Continue your journey to reach the city of Roskilde, where the old sanctuary now stands – of the Danish royal family’s Cathedral, dating from the twelfth century. In addition, you can visit the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and admire its ancient vessels dating from the year 1000.

Day 03: Roskilde – Odense (133 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will cross the longest bridge in Europe: Storebælt (the Great Belt Bridge*), connecting the island of Sealand to Funen – linking eastern and western parts of Denmark together. On arrival in Odense, you will discover the city of Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish writer and poet, famous for his fairy tales. Odense is a city that combines ancient and modern, but also ideal to get familiar with one of the most popular products in Denmark: the craft beer!

Day 04: Odense – Århus (144 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will head west and reach a very famous place in Denmark, Billund, which has only 6000 inhabitants. Billund is home of the famous Legoland: a miniature world built entirely of Lego. Then continue north-east to Aarhus, one of the great cities of Jutland where an open-air museum, Den Gamle By is located – this museum is devoted to culture and customs of local people from 1500 until today.

Day 05: Århus – Skagen (222 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Then start your journey north to meet Skagen, where the land narrows to become a sandbank battered by the waves of two seas. Skagen is located between the white dunes with heather in bloom. On the Waterfront, you will find small restaurants serving excellent shrimps and all types of fresh seafood.

Day 06: Skagen – Kolding (312 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today your journey continues south to the town of Kolding. The most important monument in the history of the city is the castle Koldinghus which has been, over the years, a fortress, a royal residence, ruins and a museum. In town, you will also find the Trapholt Art Museum dedicated to modern art.

Day 07: Kolding – Copenhagen (228 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. This day is dedicated to visiting the beautiful capital of Denmark, a modern city that has retained its original charm. Copenhagen is often considered as a benchmark amongst the world’s best cities for quality of life, despite the cost! With its long history and a wide variety of attractions and sights, we never run out of things to do or see. In addition, the city is quite small and therefore ideal for exploring on foot. København in Danish means “Port of Trade.”

Day 08: Departure Copenhagen
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time to visit Copenhagen and its many attractions. Departure from Copenhagen, depending on your itinerary.
