Day 1 – Tromsø
Arrival in Tromsø airport and transfer on your own to the city centre. (Flight and transfer not included) To get from the airport to the hotel, we recommend using low CO2 emission transport such as airport buses/shuttles. 18h30 — Meet with your tour leader at the hotel reception. They will be with your for the entire duration of the trip. Informational welcome meeting regarding your stay with the guide.
Your guide has lived in Norway for many years. They will make you discover the North of Norway while telling you about the life in this country. Tromsø is the capital of the Arctic and the 8th city in Norway. It is the northernmost student city in the world and is often refered to as the ‘Paris of the North’. Tromsø is a strategic location to view the Northern lights. Free dinner.
Note that this trip is bilingual French/ English.

Day 2 – During the Day: Discover the landscapes and the Arctic wildlife
Breakfast – Scandinavian buffet at the hotel. 08h30 – 13h30 Set sail on a silent hybrid catamaran off the coast of Tromsø to discover the majestic Arctic landscapes, where you may be lucky enough to spot seals, orcas or sea eagles. An English-speaking guide on board will tell you all about the history and culture of this region. The boat offers hot food, drinks and pastries in a panoramic lounge, where you can enjoy the snow-covered landscapes of the Northern Alps and see the small fishing villages along the coast. The rest of the day is free to explore the city in a more personal way. We recommend a stop at Mack Brewery, one of the most northerly breweries in the world, or the Polaria Museum, where you can watch the seals being fed at 15h30. Lunch and dinner free.

Day 2, Evening: Northern Lights Hunt
18h35 – Join us for a Northern Lights Hunt! Departure by non-private coach. Guided by an English-speaking guide. You will set off in search of the best place to admire the Northern Lights. Once you have found the spot , you will explore the surrounding area. Your English-speaking guide will be here to give you some advice on how to get the best possible shot with your own camera. Tripods can be borrowed. The excursion last approximately 6 hours. Dinner non-included.
Note: This excursion may be cancelled in the event of bad weather. Not suitable for children under 10 due to low temperatures.
Day 3 – Free day in the city and excursion to the top of the Fløya mountain
Breakfast – Scandinavian buffet at the hotel The day is entirely at your leisure to explore the city at your own pace. Free lunch. 24-hour public transport ticket included. You will have tickets with you for the Fjellheisen cable car, which will take you to the top of Mount Storsteinen in Fløya, 421 metres above the sea. You can take the line 26 bus to the foot of the mountain. The climb takes 4 minutes by cable car. From up there you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains. These tickets are valid all day, so you can go whenever you like.

19h30: 3-courses dinner at Fiskekompaniet restaurant.

Day 4 – Dog Sledding
Breakfast – Scandinavian breakfast at the hotel. Dog sledding excursion – Departure by non-private coach for Villmarkssenter. Journey time 25 minutes. On arrival, you will be given “extreme cold” suits, boots, gloves, balaclavas and goggles. Meet the huskies, who are ready to show you the beautiful countryside surrounding the kennels. You will be in teams of two per sled and will be able to alternate between driving and sitting during the excursion, which will last around 1 hour. If the track is frozen, you will automatically be seated in pairs in a sled driven by a professional musher, for safety reasons. People who do not wish to drive in pairs must specify this when registering in order to organise the group. It is not possible to change once on site. It’s not complicated, but it may require a bit of effort up the slopes.
Note: For safety reasons, children under 16 will be seated with an adult in a sledge driven by a musher. (2 person by sledges. This means that the 2nd adult will be seated with a third person. A typical hot meal of meat and vegetable stew, followed by a delicious ‘home-made’ chocolate cake and coffee/tea will be served in a ‘lavoo’. Vegetarian option available.
Return to Tromsø in the early afternoon. Free afternoon so you can enjoy the city in a more personal way. Free dinner.
Day 5 – Departure
Breakfast – Scandinavian buffet. Transfer on your own to the Tromsø airport and flight back. (transfer and flight not included). To get from the hotel to the airport, we recommend that you use lowcarbon transport such as airport shuttle/ buses.
