Southern Norway

This route includes various popular and touristic places of southern Norway : Oslo – the capital of Norway, the train between Oslo and Bergen, the Hardangervidda, the Sognefjord, the Flåm train, Bergen – the capital of the fjords and Stavanger.
Day 1 – Arrival in Oslo
It is located at the end of the Oslo Fjord and is surrounded by forests. Oslo has many popular attractions such as Vigeland Park, Viking Ship Museum, Munch Opera and Museum and more.

Day 2 – Oslo – Flåm – Bergen (train / boat)
You will travel by train through the Hardangervidda mountain and continue on board of the Flåm train. It will take you through the wild landscapes of mountains, waterfalls and cliffs descending 900 meters into the Sognefjord. There are no other trains in the world running on conventional tracks with such steep slopes. From Flåm you will continue by boat to Bergen. You will cross Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord (204 km). Arrival in Bergen in the evening.

Day 3 – Bergen
Free day in Bergen. Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and is also the only city in the world to be surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. The not to be missed are the old Hanseatic city with its old trading desks “Bryggen”, the Fløien funicular, the harbor and the fish market and much more.

Day 4 – Bergen – occidental coast – Stavanger (bus)
The bus will take you along the west coast from Bergen to Stavanger. During the 5 hours of travel, you will appreciate the beautiful coast and its archipelago. The bus will take 2 ferries. Stavanger is the fourth largest city in Norway with a collection of gabled houses, cobblestone streets, winding lanes and bustling markets. One of the most popular places is its old town (Gamle Stavanger), which has well preserved 18th century wooden houses.

Day 5 – Stavanger
Discovery day of the Norwegian capital of black gold. We also recommend an excursion to admire the Preikestolen. The Preikestolen is a rocky peak suspended 600m above the water – a very popular site on many postcards of Norway!

Option: Cruise in the lysefjord from 3h30 from Stavanger to discover one of the most beautiful fjords of Norway, the Lysefjord or Excursion to Preikestolen, walk of about 2 hours. This excursion takes place by taking the ferry from Stavanger to Tau and the bus to Jørpeland in the direction of Preikestolen.
Day 6 – Stavanger – Kristiansand (train)
Departure in the morning by train to Kristiansand by the south coast of the country. Arrival in Kristiansand, Norway’s southernmost city. We recommend a walk along the beach, a visit to the fortress dating back to 1672, a visit to the fish market and the marina.

Day 7 – Kristiansand – Oslo (train)
Departure by train to Oslo, the capital of the Vikings, through the famous Telemark region known for being the cradle of skiing. Then arrival in Oslo, we recommend you visit Bygdøy Peninsula with the Open Air Museum of Norwegian Cultural History, the Viking Ship Museum and the Fram Polar Ship Museum.

Day 8 – Departure from Oslo
